We bailed out of Funland first thing and since there wasn’t a single point of interest in Britt’s Lonely Planet between there and Twillingate (which subsequently proved to be accurate - not counting the moose butt that Britt swore she saw disappearing into the woods, 400m up the road) we made the run non-stop to the Lower Little Harbour Trail.
What started out as an easy costal trail,
Rapidly escalated to a saga reminiscent of the Fellowship of the Ring.
We even found a few Hobbit holes.
At times the terrain was so treacherous, that a few of the fellowship had to forge on,
While others remained on more solid ground.
Our journey through Tolkien-esque landscapes was not only as epic, but also as long as a one of his novels...
“Yeah, Daddy, this is cool, but it’s going on FOR-EVER!”
Our band was buoyed by some sudden excitement off shore…
Much debate ensued regarding the identification of the species. We narrowed it down to either mermaid or beluga…jury’s still out.
At long last, we made it back to safe haven and our new digs, the Anchor Inn.
Before immediately heading out on an excursion through town,
In an effort to avoid the Ringwraiths we ducked into a tavern,
For some butterbeer.
After which, we made like hobbits and headed home to prepare for…
Another feast.
