001 - Paris - Aaaand we're off!

After months of intense planning the Team Bearss travelling circus has finally hit the road.  As a test of our mettle we were joined for our opening act by the always entertaining Carvalho Gong Show.
Between Erin, Britt and I we managed to keep Ian, Lexi and Ciel, their respective blankies and Ian's coveted tissue paper Thanksgiving turkey corralled long enough to get us and our 176 kg of combined gear to our first destination unscathed.
Ciel was a little nervous about her first flight, but she managed to purge the butterflies, along with her dinner, all over herself and Britt just as they were announcing over head "....passengers travelling with small children may now board the plane..."
Due to extreme cuteness Ciel was upgraded to Infant First Class (aka the Bassinet) where she could really stretch out, and proceeded to saw logs for 6 hours.  Apparently, we dropped the ball in not buckling up the mesh cover to the bassinet, thus risking (in the words of the flight attendant) that our baby might "become a projectile" in the event of turbulence. Fortunately, she behaved and stayed put on her own.

After negotiating one metro transfer, two escalators, three flights of stairs, and an elevator the size of a phone booth (no, REALLY) we have crash landed at our little three room apartment for our first week in Paris. Everyone is super pumped for our next activity... nap time.
