After a week of radio silence, we’ve successfully returned from our cruise through the Yasawa Islands of Fiji. I won’t waste your time with a long-winded recap, let’s just get down to the nitty gritty.
Our boat, the Mystique Princess was a total barge.
Ciel briefly explored some other options for us,
But, in the end we decided to tough it out.
There was a great mix of Canadians, Kiwis, Aussies, and Europeans on our boat. Ciel hammed it up all week, which ensured a steady stream of free babysitting during mealtimes.
I’d planned to keep track of all the names of the islands we visited, but that seemed so much like work,
And, we’re just not really into that.
Whatever their names were, they were beautiful.
And, the village visits were outstanding.
We are totally experts at the yaqona ceremony now.
Britt was so comfortable she even endeavoured to lead the celebrations.
Ciel garnered her usual complement of local friends.
And the primary school visit/concert was a big hit.
Ciel couldn’t resist getting right in on the action.
Despite all the activities the crew somehow still managed to serve us six meals a day: Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, followed closely by 6:00pm Canapés, and, finally, Dinner. No sooner would one meal wrap up when out came the place settings for the next. To make matters worse, the food was outstanding.
Just ask Ciel.
She has continued along on her pattern of indiscriminate consumption. From olives to lime slices, anything is fair game.
Although, (in keeping with the example set by her cousin Lexi) she does show a strong predilection for all things meat. Her fruits and veggies play second fiddle to breakfast sausages, chili chicken, smoked marlin ravioli, roast lamb, beef curry, etc…
Don’t worry, she’s getting plenty of fluids to wash them all down.
Our trip hasn’t been without its share of danger, though we have managed to dodge the many perils.
Be it ballistic weaponry,
Man-eating marine life,
Or lightning fast quicksand,
We always find a way to bounce back,
Even after our dismal, out of tune performance of O’ Canada (with Ben and Judy from Victoria) on International night.
It’s been a great few weeks with Nana and G-Dad.
Now it’s time to ship them home, along with another ten kilos of our extraneous gear.
As soon as Ciel finishes signing autographs for the other 36 passengers from the ship, we can head to the airport to trade our Fijian “Bula!”s for “Aloha!”s .
See you in Kaua'i.

AWESOME post and photos! Ciel is so excellent! I can believe all the attention that she must be getting. She is THAT cute!
It looks like this part of the trip is treating you all really well! Its apparent that Luke still hasn't come across a razor in your travels. Are you storing souvenirs in the beard or what?!? I do love it!
Where to next?
Well it sure looks like the cruise was a hit for everyone..especially for Ciel the social butterfly. Glad to see that Nana and G-Dad had a relaxing time but definately made the most of it.
But there were no natural disasters that followed you ...looks like you gave mother nature the slip...good job.
Take care..can't wait to see what is next.
