102 - African Adventure (Appendix A) - Day 15 (Nairobi, New York) - Back To The Future

Our tiny flight from Masai Mara to Nairobi, apparently passed through a tear in the space-time continuum, because upon landing we found ourselves smack dab in the middle of a Retro '80s Throwback....

First we stumbled upon Johnny and Baby, practicing their bodacious lift in the rooftop pool,

We crushed a couple Long Island Iced Teas and Alabama Slammers before parting ways with these hosers…

A crack of a whip later, and Momma Bearss was ushering us back to our day suite,
to try to make sense of the 3 weeks worth of clothing we had haphazardly strewn across the room.

Aside from the the food being like "Gag me with a spoon!", our overnight flight from Nairobi to JFK went smoothly...
...Again, that may have had something to do with Britt doling out more drugs than an '80s stock broker.

Marty and Doc assured us we were right on time,

as we rolled out of the baggage claim area and up to the former TWA terminal-turned retro hotel.

The mid-century modern/pseudo-futuristic architectural style, made us feel a bit like we were entering an episode of the Jetsons...

"Just swell!"

Upon arrival,

We spent some time checking out the choice displays,

"Has anyone seen the TV Guide?"

"Feet? Ewww....GRODY!"

"Hold my calls."

After that, we gave the 'rents a ring...so they wouldn't have a cow,

teased our do's,

and then cruised to the rooftop restaurant/pool,

where we could chill.
(literally, -5C)

Taz led a brief Jazzercise Class.

It was pretty rad, but unfortunately we'd left our leg warmers in the room, so eventually the cold had us wigging out, and we were forced to bounce.

We thawed out, then like, totally checked into Connie's Cocktail Lounge
(1958 Lockheed Constellation)

so we could party hardy for happy hour,

before landing at the Paris Café for dinner.

Pretty sweet, dude.

OMG...the kids would be like what are you talking about??? The Jetsons, Johnny & Baby...flashback to a great era. I also think you are dating yourself now...but then again so am I. That is a hotel worth checking out for sure...very retro and very cool.
