After three and a half months of wandering, we have laid down some roots for a four-week stint in Auckland. We are staying at a little shot-in-the dark place Brittster found on the internet, called the “No.1 Cottage on the Point”.
It is, in fact, the last building on Northcote Point on the north shore of Waitemata Harbour in Auckland.
Unfortunately, the place is a total dive.
What with it's two levels of walkout decking,
Loft bedroom,
And ample living(/jumping) space.
The views are even worse,
Especially from the hot tub.
Our private beach is so far away,
That Ciel insisted on having her own pool to stay cool.
(Which she promptly pooped in (not shown), necessitating immediate activation of Code Brown procedures, including evacuation and chlorine decontamination…)
There is constant traffic, right on our doorstep.
For fear of being stranded on the point with no access to essentials, we overzealously went out and bought a month’s worth of groceries, diapers and beer, prior to ditching our rental van.
Now we’re stuck in this hole.
Morning,
Morning,
Noon,
And night,
For the next month!
It’s gonna be awful.
